Here, think of it this way. [She holds both of her hands out at the same level, palms up.]

Say one hand represents the ocean and one hand represents the land, and at this position, they're at their natural state. It's balanced, you see? The way nature operates, it relies on this balance. If the scales were to suddenly tip-- [She brings one hand up, and the other down.] Regardless of in whose favor it is, lives will be lost, whether it's people or Pokemon.

If the land were to suddenly expand, for example, it would disrupt the ecosystem of Pokemon in the ocean--there would be overcrowding, fighting for food and territory, and other such things. Conversely, if the ocean were to suddenly expand, it'd do the same for humans and Pokemon living on the land.

But it doesn't matter. Her thing with the ocean is personal, and it needs to just go away.]

The more land we got, the better it's gonna be for everyone. Water just drowns things and takes them away, and the land gives people more space to live in. It's better!

You'll have to pardon me if I'm not too inclined to believe it. People don't need more space to live in. They're doing just fine.

Believe me, I like the land. The berry gardener in me loves it, even. But water is still necessary for people and Pokemon to survive. Throwing the delicate balance of nature is just asking for trouble. Lives can be lost in the process.

Say for example... Mt. Chimney were to erupt. [Since Team Magma was using that for one of its plans, it's perfectly fair game to use as an example!] Once the lava cools and hardens, it'd become more land, just as Team Magma wants... but what would happen to the people and Pokemon in the area surrounding it?
