[There's a new Gold in the lab. This one can be distinguished by the fact his hoodie is black instead of red, with a bright red R emblazoned over his heart. All his Pokeballs are Rocket-themed, as well. He'd be rather handsome if it weren't for the ugly sneer he wears as he walks along eating about three different candy bars at once.]

Ugh, 'f all times to get lost in the lab... [He's low on snacks, dammit.] Doesn't even look like the same one.

[gold takes that moment to break free and dodge that knife with just a graze, but he's not so lucky with the legs and goes down on his butt

he'll jab at the other's stomach with the thinner end of his cuestick and generally try to keep it between them. he's definitely bleeding from his shoulder too, grazing still hurts even if adrenaline's good to him]

[The cue stick ruins his plan of pouncing on you and pinning you down, which means he'll duck to the side - it manages to jab him more on the hip than the stomach, that'll bruise later - and try to come in lower. First blood is good but it's not enough.]

At the ready! [He shouts, and there's a flash as Houndoom comes out. It won't do anything but circle yet, but it's definitely prepared to pounce the moment Gold says so. He's hoping the dog's presence will distract you long enough that he can get a deeper cut on you.

Hellhound on one side, knife-wielding Rocket on the other. Enjoy that.]

[yeah, gold's not sure who's the bigger threat until he gets a nice cut on his arm and even if houndoom's fire can burn him faster--

the trainer is worse at the moment

he acts like he's trying to sweep your feet from beneath you with his cue stick, and whether it works or not it's also a sneaky way to move his politoed's ball to behind the circling houndoom's view where it'll silently open]

[It does work! But on the way down, Gold shouts--] Sic 'im! [--Which is Houndoom's cue to pounce. It'll try to pin you or claw you while Gold gets himself back up. Neither boy nor dog notices the frog.

Once Gold is back on his feet, he moves, trying to find a position where you won't be able to see him as well. If he can find a blind spot, he'll take advantage of it and go for a stab rather than a slice.]

[it's a good thing polibro's out, because while houndoom's distracted with gold letting himself get pinned down the politoed moves closer and waits for the command

gold's keeping an eye on you too, the best he can, and doesn't mind suffering a stab here and there]
