I see. It was the same way with Eoner here. [They're used to these coincidences aren't they?] Did you know that Eevee can evolve into three different Pokemon?

Flareon, Jolteon, and Vaporeon... Right? Bill had them on his computer.

[Eoner likes you, kid. He'll slide off the table too to keep their game up.]

Mmhmm. Fire Stone, Thunderstone, and Water Stone. Eevee's the only one that has the possibility of turning into three different Pokemon based on the stone you let it touch. [He pauses so he can stand and check on the duo, then sits back down.] Have you thought about which you want?

[They're totally playing keep away now. That is, keep Eoner away from the paper. It's Eevette's now.]

Not at all. [She glances at her bag -- she can feel her stones vibrating. Or, uh, she thinks she does.] I was thinking of just letting Eevette choose for himself whenever he wants to evolve. So far, he hasn't really tried getting to them, so I think he's okay with being an eevee still.

[strongsilent]

[That's fine with him.]

I see. I showed Eoner pictures of each of them and he decided like that, but once he became a Flareon he was always really sleepy... [... Or maybe he was always like this and ended up just being able to relax in the sun.]

[releaf]

Oh... Maybe that's just how Flareon are? I guess Jolteon would be really high-energy then, and Vaporeon would be kind of in the middle..?

[strongsilent]

... Maybe I should've convinced him to be a Vaporeon instead. [It would've gone in with his Water team too.] He was helpful against Erika and Blue though. I don't think he would've been any different no matter the form he chose.

[Covers a lot of his weaknesses. He loves Eoner a lot.]

Maybe he has a relaxed personality. [She takes out her pokédex carefully and looks through the information.] Eevette's modest, and he acts like it most of the time.

[strongsilent]

Maybe... [He doesn't know. His Dex doesn't keep track of things like that, so he leans closer to check hers out.

... That's so cool. She had a nice one and everything.] Yours is different than mine.

[releaf]

[Nod. He'll take it out and give it to her.

It's so old fashioned... Worn from use. There's part of it where the red seems to be dulled or rubbed off. Cherished.]

I haven't brought to the professor since I got it.

It looks really old. [She's going to idly go through his entries, too. ...Not a lot, huh..?] I don't think I've ever even seen this model before.

[Not a lot registered, no, but so many seen. Including the birds and Mewtwo.]

... [Well, that's kind of embarrassing. He'll read quietly while she studies his ancient technology.]

[Those are cool. She's never seen them before --

um. Leaf taps him on his shoulder when she's finished looking at it.]

I think it's pretty neat that you have your own model. [Look at the bright side..?] The pictures are kind of scary looking though.

[He shrugs, taking it back and putting it away.]

Can I see yours?

[She nods and pushes hers over. It doesn't have many pokemon registered - or seen, really - but it has a lot of other cool features..? And updated graphics.

She'll busy herself with looking at the books he has around and with petting her eevee, who's decided laying on the paper is the best course of action and is doing so by her feet.]

[strongsilent]

[You bet your hat he's going through all these graphics and cool features.

Eoner's attempting to tug it out from beneath the small guy, but dead weight's dead weight.]

... Does Blue have the same one you do?

[releaf]

Uh huh. The professor gave them to us. [Oh, fossils. She has a few on-hand.] His is more filled up than mine though, I think...

[strongsilent]

Oh... [Huh.] The one I know has the same one I do. I wonder if I could get mine upgraded here.

[releaf]

Maybe. [There's... plenty of tech around, so maybe one of those could do it..?] I'd offer to share mine but, um, it's not quite as complete as yours, so I don't think it'd be a fair deal...

[strongsilent]

Maybe we can share information somehow...

[He'll take his back out to study it beside hers. Hmmm.]

There's... a lot of pokémon here, right? We could update it like that.

[Sounds like a lot of effort.]

... There doesn't seem to be any way of exchanging information though, so he gives hers back with a small frown.]

I'm not that interested in catching Pokemon like he is. [It used to make him feel bad, because he'd agreed to it, but he figures that as long as one of them completes it the old man'll be happy.]
