But it's a large library. A huge library. The possibilities are endless... and very specifically tailored to everyone's needs.]

um. Leaf taps him on his shoulder when she's finished looking at it.]

I think it's pretty neat that you have your own model. [Look at the bright side..?] The pictures are kind of scary looking though.

[He shrugs, taking it back and putting it away.]

[She nods and pushes hers over. It doesn't have many pokemon registered - or seen, really - but it has a lot of other cool features..? And updated graphics.

She'll busy herself with looking at the books he has around and with petting her eevee, who's decided laying on the paper is the best course of action and is doing so by her feet.]

[strongsilent]

[You bet your hat he's going through all these graphics and cool features.

Eoner's attempting to tug it out from beneath the small guy, but dead weight's dead weight.]

... Does Blue have the same one you do?

[releaf]

Uh huh. The professor gave them to us. [Oh, fossils. She has a few on-hand.] His is more filled up than mine though, I think...

[strongsilent]

Oh... [Huh.] The one I know has the same one I do. I wonder if I could get mine upgraded here.

[releaf]

Maybe. [There's... plenty of tech around, so maybe one of those could do it..?] I'd offer to share mine but, um, it's not quite as complete as yours, so I don't think it'd be a fair deal...

[strongsilent]

Maybe we can share information somehow...

[He'll take his back out to study it beside hers. Hmmm.]

[releaf]

[Hmmm.]

There's... a lot of pokémon here, right? We could update it like that.

[Sounds like a lot of effort.]

You let your Blue focus on the pokédex too, huh?

[strongsilent]

... There doesn't seem to be any way of exchanging information though, so he gives hers back with a small frown.]

I'm not that interested in catching Pokemon like he is. [It used to make him feel bad, because he'd agreed to it, but he figures that as long as one of them completes it the old man'll be happy.]

[releaf]

[She puts it back into her bag with a small sigh.]

In the beginning... I didn't feel like I was a good enough trainer. I, um, had a really tough time getting through the routes and through Viridian Forest. I almost gave up a few times, but Saurette was always there for me. She does this thing where when I'm feeling nervous or unsure, she rubs her vines on my hands. [It's really... nice.] But lately, even though I don't feel as unsure anymore, I still haven't caught any pokémon. I just keep thinking back to when I first started and left home, and how scary it was... So I didn't want to have any pokémon go through that, either.

[Vocalizing feelings makes them sound stupid, so she tugs her hat further down to hide her face.]

[strongsilent]

[Ah.

He has noticed that she didn't stutter or say um as much.]

... But it was worth leaving in the end, right? You've met a lot of people and Pokemon. [Deep breathe. Inhale, exhale. Okay.] I've only caught one Pokemon. She was scared at first, to be leaving the grass she'd always known, but more and more each day she liked walking around and meeting others. She was able to see a world she'd been missing out on before. Kind of like you and Saurette.

[He pauses.] Do you want to meet her?

[releaf]

[Meeting a pokémon? Sounds fun, so she nods.]

I'd let Saurette out so you could see her and she could meet your friend, too, but she's a little... [Measuring with her hand -- sort of.] Big. She's a Venasaur now.

[strongsilent]

[Those are big. He knows.]

Vileplume aren't too bad, but you might want to cover your mouth.

[And once she's done that, he'll let out Plumer - who is very happy to meet her! Hello there.]

[Just like Erika's! She gives Plumer a wave with her free hand.]

She's very cute. What's her name?

Plumer. [Original, he knows.] I caught her because neither of my Pokemon could cut down obstacles.

[So it was for a practical reason he caught her. That's the whole reason he'd catch anyone. But it's obvious he absolutely adores her.]

I can't really imagine not having her around.

[She's their momma.]

[releaf]

[Saurette handled that well. Ha.]

It's nice to meet you, Plumer. [The most original.] She reminds me of Miss Erika's, only... stronger.

[strongsilent]

[Plumer's going to make sure those two rascals don't mess up the library, especially since Eoner's about to just burn the paper from beneath Eevette's butt.]

She's been through a lot with me. [The fondest smiles.] That's why I don't think catching Pokemon is really a bad or scary thing for them.

[... As long as it has a purpose, anyway. Catching them willy nilly and never spending time with them seems harsh to him, someone who has little friends.]
