Here, think of it this way. [She holds both of her hands out at the same level, palms up.]

Say one hand represents the ocean and one hand represents the land, and at this position, they're at their natural state. It's balanced, you see? The way nature operates, it relies on this balance. If the scales were to suddenly tip-- [She brings one hand up, and the other down.] Regardless of in whose favor it is, lives will be lost, whether it's people or Pokemon.

If the land were to suddenly expand, for example, it would disrupt the ecosystem of Pokemon in the ocean--there would be overcrowding, fighting for food and territory, and other such things. Conversely, if the ocean were to suddenly expand, it'd do the same for humans and Pokemon living on the land.
