[Even the island had been a little less weird than this. It did...things, sure, but most of the time it resembled a fairly normal landscape and didn't go too crazy with the warp...doors...business.
Seriously, fuck warp doors.
Especially when the Pidgeys ditch you and one door closes behind you and leaves you standing in pitch darkness. Cool, moist pitch-darkness, with the sound of dripping water echoing as though through a long tunnel.
Ew.
Ho-oh figures, well, why not shed some light on all this? So he calls up a little flickering flame in the palm of his hand, looks around himself - yep, some kind of watery cavern.]
...Hello?
[He waits. Ten seconds pass. He takes a few steps forward (cringing at the feeling of water rising around his feet) and tries again.]
HELLO?
[Echo, echo. There's silence, then...a rushing wave of fluttering and squeaking noises.
Ho-oh holds up his flame and looks up towards the source of the sound.
....Oh, shit.]
[[Welcome to the room of annoyances. A cave level with alternating patches of water and land, winding labyrinthine tunnels with more dead ends than good ends, hordes of Roggenrola and Tentacool and Zubat to keep you company. And you're all out of Repels and Escape Ropes, too...
